Collected and Donated: 3,762 books
Advancing Education
As part of our education initiative, our members have been putting flyers on mailboxes and collecting book donations in neighborhoods all across Troy. Step on Poverty has donated many of these books to southeastern Michigan schools in need to promote literacy and a love of reading. Our organization has also partnered with Bemis Elementary's 2018-2019 fifth grade class in order to donate books to schools affected by the California wildfires.
We believe it is crucial to support our community, both in Troy and the rest of the world. A quality education is a necessity and a right all students should receive. By doing our part in promoting reading, Step on Poverty hopes to inspire greater change.
